Analemmatic sundial in
Torreón, Coahuila, México

This picture shows the sundial just finished. The environment is decorated with local desert plants, commonly named: Candelilla, Gobernadora, Lechuguilla, Sangre de drago, Huevo de toro, Biznaga, Pitaya, Corona de espinas, Nopal rastrero, Cardenche, etc. These are all protected desert species.

A leaflet has been prepared to explain the functioning of the sundial. It has a scale drawing like the one below, which functions as a sundial when oriented properly and using a small nail or toothpick placed on the right date.

The wind rose indicates the meridian line.
