Equatorial dials

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Center of the campus

What a magnificent object! A flame surging up into the skies, in the heart of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
The dial is 8.5 meter (28 ft) tall and made of steel. It is "symbolic of early technology and representative of ancient culture, both east and west." Its nickname here is 'the red bird'.

Equatorial dials at lower latitudes are said to be less attractive. Well, have a look here, I would say!
No gnomonic data given.
