Multiple dials
Multiple dials were not made so much to facilitate reading from various angles. Rather, they served to demonstrate the craftsmanship of the maker, who proved his ability to design sundials on faces of arbitrary orientation.
The newer specimens (Haren and Genk-4 below) were mainly designed for educational purposes, showing various types of dials.
All individual dials on the objects below are pole-style dials, with the exception of the one in Haren, which combines a pole-style and a nodal dial.
